In Palm Export you can select which Form Types, Statuses and Areas to download to your Handheld device. Using the Handheld CTI Navigator program on your handheld, you can then search by any of the most common search fields (such as address, MLS#, price, bedrooms, baths, etc.). Search results are displayed in a table, one-line per listing, with the option to view details. You also can search agent and office information on your Handheld.
Handheld CTI Navigator is compatible with all
Smartphones and Handhelds that run the Palm Operating System.
This includes the Palm Treo 650, 680, 700p,
755p and Centro
smartphones, and all current models of Palm Handhelds (such as the TX,
Tungsten E2 and Z22). Devices running the "Windows Mobile" operating
system (such as Palm Treo 700w, 700wx
and 750 and Dell Axims) currently
will not run the Handheld CTI Navigator program. Other versions of
access to the data and functionality of CTI Navigator using handheld devices are
under development. (Note: If you are interested in participating in testing
versions under development for mobile access, contact Handheld
Navigator at CTI before
purchasing a non-Palm based handheld device.)
Since not everyone will be using the Palm Export, some of its components are not installed until its first use. Following are instructions on how to install the complete Handheld CTI Navigator program. (For additional information and assistance if needed, see Contact Note 3 at the bottom of this web page.)
This completes initial installation of the Handheld CTI Navigator program. The CTI icon with your MLS 3-letter abbreviation as a label will appear on your handheld’s screen. (You may need to scroll down to see it.)
Note 1: If the address in your browser starts with "-No Home", you must remove the "-no home" from the address so that your computer can connect to http://www.ctimls.com/...
Note 2: You can click the Help button on the first screen in the Palm Export sequence to view basic instructions for operating Handheld CTI Navigator.

After
the initial program installation, or after selecting Tools > Palm
Export, a screen will prompt you to insure that your Palm is attached to the
computer and display “Select
type of data to be loaded into Palm.” Check the box beside items
to be exported (and uncheck any items not to be exported).
Note that the more items loaded onto the handheld, the slower it
will run. (Mainly for this reason, photos are not currently
exported.)

The Search process on the Handheld is similar to but not exactly the same as on the PC. In general, CTI Handheld Navigator uses the standard Palm interfaces for selecting and entering numbers and letters, and for paging forward or backward. The following instructions assume you have previously installed the Handheld CTI Navigator program on your handheld device and have successfully synchronized the data with the CTI Navigator on your computer.
T). On the next screen, select
either Find Listings, Find Agents, or Find
Offices.
On
the first Find Listings screen, either enter an MLS number and
select Search; or check one of the Form Types and select Next.
Only one Form Type can be selected at a time. A letter designating the selected
Form Type (such as R=Residential, C=Commercial) displays in the bottom right
corner of subsequent screens.
On
the Criteria screen(s) tap the checkbox or the encircled criteria name, and
enter the desired value(s) on the next screen. Press OK after entering a
criterion value to return to the Criteria selection screen.
The
default for all criteria is to include all values. A check in the box beside a
criterion restricts the value of that criterion to the value(s) specified. For
example, if Property Type is unchecked, all property types will be included in
the search results. If Property Type is checked, only listings of the Property
Type(s) specified will be included in the results. The check in the box
determines whether or not a criterion is used to filter the results. However,
unlike on the PC, the check in the box does not affect displaying the criterion
value in the results table. The value of all searchable criteria, whether
checked (specified) or unchecked (not specified), display for each listing in
the search results table.
After
specifying all desired search criteria, tap
Next
to display a table of listings that match the search criteria. The MLS# of the
listing highlighted in the table displays in the top left corner of the screen.
Tap anywhere on a row to select that listing. The total number of listings in
the results table is shown in the top right corner of the screen. The table
displays 10 listings at a time.
Tap
the large Right-pointing arrow (Æ)
below the bottom right of the table frame on-screen to scroll right one full screen. This
will display additional columns of information for the same listings displayed
on the front screen. The address and price of the highlighted listing will
display across the top of the screen. After scrolling right, tap the large Left-pointing arrow (Å)
below the bottom left of the table frame on-screen to scroll back to the front screen of
the displayed listings.
If
there are more listings than will fit on the screen, there will be a down arrow
(È)
in the bottom right corner of the table. Tap this on-screen arrow to scroll down one
line and display the next screen of listings, or use the Down Arrow of the
navigator button on the keypad. To
return to the previous screen, tap the up (Ç)
scroll arrow in the top right corner of the table, or use the
Up Arrow of the navigator button on the keypad, to
scroll upward one line. Do not tap Back
at the bottom of the screen unless you want to return to the Criteria Selection
screen to revise the search criteria.
Tap
Sort
at the bottom of the screen to change the order in which listings are displayed
in the results table. Results are sorted first by the criterion checked in the
"Primary" column and secondarily by the criterion checked in the
"Secondary" column. Only
one criterion can be selected for each sort level (i.e., there can be only one
primary criterion and one secondary criterion). To change a criterion, tap the
new criterion name.
Tap OK
to re-sort the search results as indicated and return to the previous screen. Tap
Cancel
to return to the previous screen without changing the sort order the listings.
Tap to highlight any listing in the results table and tap Details at the bottom of the screen to view page 1 of the details. The address and price of the selected listing is displayed across the top of the screen. The page number is displayed at the top left corner of the screen. Tap the button labeled "To Pg X" at the bottom right corner of the screen to advance to the next details page. Tap the "To Pg X" button at the top right corner of the screen to return to the previous details page.
From
page 1 of the Details screen, tap Office
or Agent
to view the Listing Office or Listing Agent details screen. See Find
Office
or Find
Agent
below for instructions on using these screens.
Tap
Back
to return to the search results table. Tap Prev
MLS
to scroll to the details screen for the “previous” listing in the search
results table (i.e., the listing in the row above the current listing). Tap Next
MLS
to scroll to the details screen for the next listing in the search results table
(i.e., the listing in the row below the current listing).
Tap
Find
Agents
on the MLS menu to display a list of all MLS members with their contact/home phone
number. The list is sorted alphabetically by last name. The office affiliation
of the highlighted agent is displayed at the top of the screen of
the selected agent. Only one agent can be selected at a time.
Press the down arrow of the navigator button on the keypad or use the down
arrow (È) in the bottom right corner of the table to scroll down. To
move up the list, tap the up arrow (Ç) in
the top right corner of the table. The highlighted agent remains selected until
another agent is selected (even when the highlighted agent is not displayed on
the current screen). Tap Back at the bottom of the agent list to
return to the Listing/Agent/Offices screen.
Tap Search to search for agent by First or Last Name. Check
either the box for First Name or Last Name, and then enter the first letter or
two of the name. To enter letters, use
either the on-screen keyboard at the top of the screen or the keypad on your
device. At the bottom of the Agent Search screen, tap Next to
display the list of agents with the agent most closely matching the search
criteria at the top of the list. If you search by first name, the resulting
agent list will be sorted by first name.
Tap Details to display additional information about the
selected agent (such as office phone number, e-mail address). Tap the down
arrowhead (q) beside the last line on screen (Address) to scroll to page
2 of Agent Details. This will display the agent’s home mail address and any
additional contact information (such as home fax, beeper, etc). Tap the "To
Pg 1" button at the top of page 2 to return to page 1.
If your handheld includes a telephone, you can select an agent and tap the Dial button beside the agent's phone number. Pressing a dial button will open a "review" screen on which you can modify (such as add area code or *67 for no caller id) or completely change the selected phone number. Tap the Dial button on the review screen to initiate a call to the number on screen. Activating your smartphone's dialing features will automatically close Handheld CTI Navigator.
Tap
Find
Offices
on the MLS menu to display a list of all MLS offices with their contact phone
number. The list is sorted alphabetically.
Tap
Back
at the bottom of the office list to return to the Listing/Agent/Offices
screen. Use the down arrow (È)
in the bottom right corner of the table to scroll down and display the next
screen of offices. To return to the previous screen, tap the up arrow (Ç)
in the top right corner of the table. The highlighted office remains selected
until another is selected, even though it may not be displayed on the current
screen.
Tap
Find
to search for office by the office name. Fill in the first
few letters of the office name by using the keyboard at the top
of the screen or your device's built-in keyboard (if it has one) to enter
letters. At the bottom of the Office search screen tap GO
(or
Next)
to display the list of offices most closely matching the search criteria.
Tap
Agents
to show
the list of agents assigned to the office.
Choose and office and tap Details to display additional information about the selected office (such as office phone number or e-mail address).
If your handheld includes a telephone, you can select an office and tap the Dial button beside the office phone number. Pressing a dial button will open a "review" screen on which you can modify (such as add area code or *67 for no caller id) or completely change the selected phone number. Tap the "Dial" button on the review screen to initiate a call to the number on screen. Activating your smartphone's dialing features will automatically close Handheld CTI Navigator.
