Fix Permission Denied Error 70

To fix "Permission Denied", "Remote Calls Not Allowed", or "Permission to use Object Denied" error in Windows Vista, XP or 2000 when using CTI Navigator's Internet functions (such as Send listing, photos or CTI Matchmaker):

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel
  2. Select Administrative Tools
  3. Double-click on Services
  4. Right-click "DCOM Server Process Launcher"
  5. Select Properties
  6. Under General tab, change the Startup Type to Automatic
  7. Under Service Status, click Start
  8. Click OK.

If this does not fix the problem, follow the instructions in the related article "Fix Remote Server does not exist or is unavailable error (462)".

If the error persists, ensure that you log into Windows using a Computer Administrator account, or an account that has been setup with the appropriate "permissions" by a Computer Administrator (see Set Permissions for Windows Limited Accounts article below).

For older versions of Windows or if completing all of the preceding steps still does not fix the error, open the Windows Registry editor (see warning below) by selecting Start > Run > regedit > Open. In the Registry, browse to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE > Microsoft > ole > beside LegacyAuthenticationLevel, if the REG_DWORD Data shows 0x00000001 (0), double-click on LegacyAuthenticationLevel and change the Value data from 0 to 1 > do not make any other changes  > verify that REG_DWORD shows 0x00000001 (1)> exit the Registry Editor  > re-start Windows.

Warning: Before you modify the Windows Registry, it is advisable to back it up and ensure that you understand how to restore the registry if a problem occurs. For information about how to back up, restore, and edit the registry, read the Microsoft Knowledge Base article, Description of the Microsoft Windows Registry (see article link below).
