The fix for the "subscript out of range error" (9) depends on exactly what function was trying to run in CTI Navigator Desktop when the error occurred. Always close CTI Navigator after any error occurs.
To go to the appropriate corrective instructions, click in the following list on the function you were using in CTI Navigator Desktop when the error occurred (or go directly to the relevant section):
Normally a "subscript out of range error" in CTI Navigator Desktop can be fixed by opening a Search Results Data Table > select Menu > File > Reset Default Table Layout. If the error always happens before you can open a data table, go to Search Listings > open a saved listing or enter a few criteria to get a reasonable number of matches > Un-check the box beside most (but not all) of the Search Criteria > click Show Results > on the Data Table select Menu > File > Reset Default Table Layout.
If resetting the default table layout does not fix the error, you may need to replace the default search listing table layout file. To replace this file, close CTI Navigator Desktop > open your Internet browser > go to www.ctimls.com/DownloadS/{YourMLScode}/SLTableLayout.tbl > Save > Save in {your install path}\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode}\System\Defaults\SLTableLayout.tbl > replace the existing file of the same name. See the appropriate sections below for {your install path} and {YourMLScode}.
For example, if your MLS code was HWS and you recently installed CTI Navigator desktop in Windows 10, 8.1, 7 or Vista, the path to the default search listing table layout file would be C:\Program Data\CTI Navigator\HWS\System\Defaults\SLTableLayout.tbl .
If the error occurs when printing or previewing tables or when using Report Display from a table, you may need to replace the data table function. To replace this function, close CTI Navigator Desktop > open your Internet browser > go to www.ctimls.com/Downloads/CTIDataTable.dll > Save > Save in C:\Program Files [or "C:\Program Files (x86)" in a 64-bit version of Windows]\CTI Navigator > replace the existing CTIDataTable.dll file.
If replacing the data table does not fix the error, close CTI Navigator Desktop > open Windows Explorer (right-click on Start and select Explore) or in Windows 10 or 8 open File Explorer > browse to {your install path}\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode} > double-click on the version.ini file > reduce the version number by at least 5 (such as change Version=267 to Version=262, but do not change the ComponentVersion number) > Close and Save changes > login and update CTI Navigator Desktop. See the appropriate sections below for {your install path} and {YourMLScode}.
If the "subscript out of range error" occurs while you are reformatting multiple columns in a data table using the Windows right-click shortcut command, close the error. Then select the Add Column icon () at the top of the table and make all column changes in the "Select Table Items" screen.

Where instructions refer to {YourMLScode}, substitute CTI's 3-letter code for your local MLS. This code can be determined by opening the CTI Navigator Desktop login screen > click the Setup button > the MLS code is the first 3 letters in the Internet Server Address box. Otherwise, you can contact CTI for your 3-letter MLS code.
The path to where your MLS Data (including the cityinfo.ini and version.ini files) is installed on your computer depends on when you installed the CTI Navigator Desktop program, and into which version of Windows it was installed.
The fix for "Subscript out of range" when using an installed tax database (where available) is to install the latest tax data. A temporary fix for this error (until you can download the latest tax data from the Internet or from CD) is to set CTI Navigator Desktop to access taxes over the Internet rather than using a locally installed tax database. To change to using taxes over the Internet, open the CTI Navigator login screen > click the Setup button > click the "Tax Files" Tab > select Internet > click OK.

To fix "Subscript out of range" when using Web-links in CTI Navigator Desktop that was installed in Windows 7 or Vista before April 17, 2012, ensure that CTI Navigator has administrative privileges in Windows. (Installations after April 17, 2012 do not need to be granted administrative privileges.) To give CTI Navigator administrative privileges when needed: open Windows Explorer and browse to C:\Program Files\CTI Navigator\CTI Navigator.exe [or in a 64-bit version of Windows, browse to C:\Program Files (x86)\CTI Navigator\CTI Navigator.exe] > right-click on the CTI Navigator.exe file > left-click on "Run as Administrator" > click Allow. (For more information on User Account Control and administrative privileges, click on "Use Windows Vista and Windows 7" in the Related Articles at the end of this web page.)
In other versions of Windows (or if the preceding does not resolve the problem in Vista or Windows 7) encountering a "Subscript out of range" error when using Web-links, either set the version back several numbers (such as change Version=300 to Version=290) in CTI Navigator Desktop's version.ini file (see next paragraph for how-to) and then update normally; or, if decrementing the version does not fix the error, manually correct the URL address for the link in CTI Navigator's CityInfo.ini file. You may need to contact CTI (or look in the Cityinfo.ini file on a computer where web-links work properly) to get the correct Internet URL address to the website that is not working on your computer.
To modify information in either the version.ini file or the CityInfo.ini file, close CTI Navigator Desktop, open Windows Explorer (right-click on Start and select Explore) or in Windows 10 or 8 open File Explorer > browse to {your install path}\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode} > double-click on the filename (version.ini or CityInfo.ini) to open it > make changes > close the file and save the changes. (See appropriate sections above for {your install path} and {YourMLScode}.) Be very careful to change only the appropriate information.
