CMA Reports are described in the Tools section of CTI Navigator Desktop Help. Instructional videos on using the CMA Reports functions in CTI Navigator desktop are accessible from CTI's on-line Menu of Help and Tutorials (see the related articles at the end of this web page).
Click on the error in the list below to go to the appropriate corrective instructions:
When a company logo, agent photo, or custom letter/report is added to the CMA function in CTI Navigator Desktop, the program will attempt to find the saved logo, photo or report file for use each time the CMA function is opened. If a "file not found" or "invalid file" error displays when opening the CMA function, look at the path in the error message and the file name at the end of the error message for the location and name of the file that cannot be found (or cannot be opened).
To delete or correct the path to a shared company logo that has been stored in the CMA function:
Note 1. The path to the "\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode}\Users\" folder for your MLS data depends on when you installed the CTI Navigator Desktop program, and into which version of Windows it was installed.
Note 2: Where instructions refer to {YourMLScode}, substitute CTI's 3-letter code for your local MLS. This code can be determined by opening the CTI Navigator login screen and clicking the Setup button. The MLS code is the first 3 letters in the Internet Server Address box. Where instructions refer to {Your Agent Name}, substitute your name (without the {} braces) exactly as listed in your local MLS. Your Agent Name is displayed in CTI Navigator under Roster > Agent/Office Info.

To delete or correct the path to an agent photo stored in the CMA function:
Note 3: there is no space in the path after the equal sign (=) and the beginning character of the path to the file.
Note 4: the path to files that are stored on a local area network (LAN) server (rather than stored inside a local PC) must start with double back slash marks (\\) .
To delete the path to an invalid photo stored in the CMA function:
Note that Photo files cannot reside in temporary folders (such as when they are opened for viewing in email without having been saved separately from the email message).
To delete the path to a corrupted or missing custom report (such as a customized cover letter or agent resume) that has been stored in the CMA function:
If the error occurs when selecting a CMA Report Theme, selecting CMA Report Preview, printing a CMA Report, or if the path to the "file not found" is "{see path in note 1 above}\CTI Navigator\Graphics\CMA\" , download replacement CMA graphics files. To replace CMA graphics:

A corrupted Adjustment Library file can cause errors such as "Invalid key", or "This key is already associated with an element of this collection", or "Type Mismatch" when you click on Add/Edit Adjustments in a CMA. To fix this error, close CTI Navigator and delete the corrupted AdjLibrary.txt file. This file is located at "{see path in note 1 above}\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode}\Users\{Your Agent Name}\CMA\AdjLibrary.txt" . (See note 2 regarding YourMLScode and YourAgentName.)
If you have many adjustments in your CMA Library that you don't want to lose, you can open the AdjLibrary.txt file, and manually delete the corrupted portion. Double-clicking on the file name in Windows opens the file for viewing and editing in Notepad. If there are two adjustments with the same name, delete one and then save the file.
Non-MLS photos are not saved in a CMA Report - only the path to the photo file is saved. A "bad file name or number" error when opening a previously saved CMA Report typically indicates that a non-MLS photo file is no longer accessible - such as when the photo is on a USB thumb drive that is not currently plugged into the computer, or was in an email or other temporary file that no longer exists. Photo files cannot reside in temporary folders (such as when they are opened for viewing in email without having been saved separately from the email message).
The fix is to reinstate access to the photo file. Either plug in the device containing the photo file; or save the photo file to your hard drive and edit the path to the photo in the saved CMA Report as described in the invalid photo paragraph of the "Fix Invalid File..." section above.

An "invalid procedure call or argument" error when creating a CMA, or an "argument out of range..." error when adding comparables in a CMA indicate that the main configuration file for CMAs (CMA.ini) is either out-of-date or corrupted. To ensure that all CTI Navigator program files (including the CMA.ini file) are current, set the version number for CTI Navigator back to an earlier date (decrement to a smaller number), and then update. (Windows 7 and Vista users should see note 5 below before attempting to change CTI Navigator's version number).
To decrement the version of CTI Navigator:
Note 5: To save changes to a program file in Windows 7 or Vista with User Account Control (UAC) enabled (the default setting), you first need to open Notepad with "run as administrator" privileges, and then browse to and open CTI Navigator's version.ini file from inside Notepad (use File > Open > Look-In). Otherwise, disable UAC and restart Windows before attempting to change a file in CTI Navigator.
If the same error persists after completing the preceding, close CTI Navigator, download a replacement CMA.ini file for your MLS from www.ctimls.com/Downloads/{YourMLScode}/CMA.ini and Save this CMA.ini file to "C:\Program Files\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode}\System\Cma\" (or to "C:\Program Files (x86)\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode}\System\Cma\" in a 64-bit version of Windows) on your computer.
Note 6: The "{see path in note 1 above}\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode}\Users\{Your Agent Name}\CMA\" folder is also where saved CMA's (*.cma), custom CMA documents (*.rtf) and the CMA ReportsIndex.txt are stored. These are the files you would copy if you wanted to transfer custom CMA's from one computer and paste them into the same \Users\{Your Agent Name}\CMA folder on another computer.

Adding lots of comps or customized pages to a CMA may result in a large CMA file. If you can print your CMA report but cannot email it out of CTI Navigator Desktop, you may need to reduce the CMA file size before attempting to email it. To reduce the CMA file size, either eliminate some pages and Save in CTI Navigator; or use a third-party PDF writer (such as free Cute PDF Writer, Bullzip PDF Printer, or PDFill Printer) to compress the file code and save the file outside of CTI Navigator on your computer. If you use a PDF writer, you can open your Windows mail or webmail program and send the PDF file as an attachment.
Another option is to create and send your CMAs in the browser based CTI Navigator Web rather than in desktop Navigator. The browser based version uses different PDF coding that automatically creates much smaller PDF files than the Window based code.
When a saved CMA in CTI Navigator Web cannot be opened for editing and/or causes Silverlight to crash on a Mac, the problem may be caused by a diacritic mark or multi-keystroke symbol in the text (features, comments, or remarks) of the Subject or Comparable properties. Diacritic marks are glyphs added above, below, or within a letter. For example, in foreign terms used in English the letter "e" may have an acute accent ( ´ ) above it such as in décor and resumé ; the letter "a" may have a circumflex ( ˆ ) above it such as in château; or the letter "c" may have a cedilla ( ¸ ) below it such as in façade.
Standard US keyboards do not have keys for accented characters. Unfortunately, the layout of some European keyboards (especially German and Dutch) can lead users to inadvertently enter an acute accent () or a grave accent () instead of an apostrophe () when typing in English. On a Macintosh, the Option key can be combined with other keys to create diacritic marks over the top of certain letters.
To avoid potential problems opening a CMA in Navigator Web on a Mac, do not include characters in the CMA that are not a key on the standard US keyboard (i.e., avoid extended keyboard codes, or multi-keystroke combinations to create special characters).
To fix this issue, remove any diacritic marks in the CMA text or replace them with a standard US keyboard character (such as apostrophe instead of accent mark) before saving the CMA. Otherwise, open and edit out diacritics in the problematic CMA then save the CMA on a Windows computer, before trying to edit such a CMA on a Mac.
Note: you can View, Print or Email any saved CMA in CTI Navigator Web regardless of whether or not you can edit it. To view and/or print an existing CMA, click on the description in "Subject Property (View)" column of the CMA Manager; or check the box beside the name and then click the Print button at the bottom of the screen. To email a CMA, check the box to select it and then click the Email button at the bottom of the screen.
