Enable JavaScript in Internet Browser

JavaScript® is widely used in web pages to provide and enhance specific interactive features (such as resizing and repositioning menus and sub-menus) in the browser. All major browsers support JavaScript. If "scripting" (using JavaScript programming language) is disabled in the browser, the content or functionality of web pages (such as sign-in, customizing screens, or printing in CTI Navigator Web) can be limited or unavailable.  

Scripting can be enabled or disabled separately in different browsers on the same computer. To disable scripting, select Disable instead of Enable on the appropriate screen in the instructions below. Changes will not take effect until the web page utilizing scripting has been closed and the browser refreshed. Note that upgrading your browser or installing new security software or security patches may affect your JavaScript settings.

Internet Explorer 

To enable scripting specifically for CTI Navigator (regardless of settings for other websites) in Internet Explorer: 

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel (or in Internet Explorer select Tools)   
  2. Select Internet Options 
  3. Click the Security tab 
  4. Select Trusted Sites 
  5. Click Sites button > un-check "Require server verification (https:)... " 
  6. Click in the "Add this website to the zone" box and type ctimls.com 
  7. Click the Add button 
  8. Click the close button.

To enable all websites in the Internet zone to run scripts (see security note below) in Internet Explorer

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel (or in Internet Explorer select Tools)   
  2. Select Internet Options 
  3. Click the Security tab 
  4. Select Internet Zone 
  5. Click the "Custom Level..." button 
  6. In the Scripting section (near the bottom of the list), select Enable under "Active Scripting"
  7. Click OK.

Security Note: Unsigned ActiveX Controls or ActiveX Controls not marked as safe for scripting will not be downloaded unless specifically enabled elsewhere in the Security Settings.

Mozilla Firefox 

To enable JavaScript in Firefox on a Windows computer:

  1. Click on the Tools menu in Firefox
  2. Select Options 

  3. Click the Content icon/tab
  4. Check "Enable JavaScript
  5. Click OK.

To enable JavaScript in Firefox on a MAC computer:

  1. Click on Firefox at the top of the browser screen
  2. Select Preferences...
  3. Select the Content icon/tab 
  4. Check "Enable JavaScript
  5. Close the Content window.

Google Chrome

To enable JavaScript in Chrome on a Windows Computer

  1. Click on the Google Chrome menu icon ()  to the right of Chrome's address bar
  2. Select Settings
  3. Click Show advanced settings… (at the bottom of the page)
  4. Under Privacy, select the Content settings… button
  5. Under the JavaScript heading, select "Allow all sites to run JavaScript".

To enable JavaScript in Chrome on a MAC Computer:

  1. Click on Chrome at the top of the browser screen
  2. Select Preferences...
  3. Select Settings (on the left)
  4. Click Show advanced settings… (at the bottom of the page)
  5. Under Privacy, click on the  Content settings… button
  6. Under the JavaScript heading, select "Allow all sites to run JavaScript".

Apple Safari

To enable JavaScript in Safari on a Windows computer:

  1. Click on Edit  at the top of the browser window 
  2. Select Preferences...
  3. Select the Security icon/tab (at the top on the window) 
  4. Check " Enable JavaScript
  5. Close the window.
  6. Refresh the browser.

To enable JavaScript in Safari on a MAC computer:

  1. Click on Safari at the top of the browser screen
  2. Select Preferences...
  3. Select the Security icon/tab (at the top of the window) 
  4. Check "Enable JavaScript" under the Web content category
  5. Close the window
  6. Refresh/Reload the web page.

To enable JavaScript in the Safari on an iPhone or iPad:

  1. Select the Settings application/icon on the home screen
  2. Select Safari 
  3. Scroll to the JavaScript item
  4. Toggle JavaScript to the On position.

Android Web Browser

To enable JavaScript in the default browser on an Android device:

  1. Select Browser or Internet to open the web browser 
  2. Select Menu 
  3. Select More
  4. Select Settings 
  5. Select Enable JavaScript.
