You should always update normally before attempting to Add or Modify a Listing, or Send a Photo to the master MLS database on the Internet. Because the data format can change, you should not leave unfinished new or revised listing information in the Add/Modify Listings screen, or unsent photos in the Photo Manager for extended periods of time.
If the database on your computer has not been updated to match the current format in the master database before you create or send new information, you may get a "Version error", "Invalid Bookmark", or "Invalid Procedure Call or Argument" error message. If you get such an error sending data to the MLS, you must delete the information created in the old format, update, and then re-create the information using the new data format. The format of the data is stored in a file named Mlss.mdb.
To delete new or revised listing information on your computer that is incompatible with the master database, open Add/Modify Listings, highlight any listing already in the Add/Modify Listing screen and click the Remove button. Ensure that all listings are cleared out of the Add/Modify Listings screen. Information on these listings that has not already been sent to the MLS server will be lost and will need to be re-entered later. Close Add/Modify Listings. If you are using local data, then Update Cti Navigator. If you are running CTI Navigator over the Internet, just re-select Add/Modify Listings (after first removing all files in it and closing it).
If a version error continues after using Remove as described above, close CTI Navigator. Then right-click on Start > select Explore > progressively select Program Files\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode}\Users\{Your Agent Name}\Listings\ and delete the file Mlss.mdb (see note 1). Delete only the Mlss.mdb file in this Listings folder under your agent name folder. Do not delete the Mlss.mdb file in the Cti Navigator\{YourMLScode}\Data folder. After deleting the Mlss.mdb file in the Listings folder under your name:
If the version error persists when sending listing information, close CTI Navigator and delete the Mlss.mdb file in C:\Program Files\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode}\Users\{Your Agent Name}\Listings\ as described above. Next open Internet Explorer and go to www.ctimls.com/Downloads/{YourMLScode}/Mlss.mdb. Save this Mlss.mdb file from the Internet to C:\Program Files\CTI Navigator\{YourMLScode}\Data and replace the existing Mlss.mdb file in the Data folder. Then log into CTI Navigator and re-enter your listing information. (See also note 3 below.)
If replacing the Mlss file does not resolve the problem, decrement the version number for CTI Navigator and update. This will cause CTI Navigator to re-download the latest program updates. To set the version back for CTI Navigator, right-click on Start > select Explore > Browse to Program Files > CTI Navigator > {YourMLScode} > double-click on the "version.ini" file (so that it opens in Notepad) > change the version so that Version={###} is about 10 less than when you opened it (for example, Version=190 instead of Version=200) > {do not change the ComponentVersion} > close and Save changes to this file > close Windows Explorer> log into CTI Navigator (click the Update button if there is one on the login screen) > at the prompt, click OK to exit CTI Navigator > login again. (See also note 3 below.)
Note 1: Where instructions refer to {YourMLScode}, substitute CTI's 3-letter code for your local MLS (without the {} braces). This code can be determined by opening the CTI Navigator login screen > click the Setup button > the MLS code is the first 3 letters in the Internet Server Address box.
Where instructions refer to {YourAgentName}, substitute your name (without the {} braces) exactly as listed in your local MLS. Your Agent Name is displayed in CTI Navigator under Roster > Agent/Office Info.
Note 2: "Invalid" errors (such as "Invalid Bookmark", or "Invalid Procedure Call or Argument") can also be caused by incorrect time or time zone settings in the Windows clock; or by incorrect (non-United States English) Regional and Language Options Settings in the Windows Control Panel.
Note 3: If the main Mlss file or Version file are not up-to-date, it could indicate that updates are being blocked on your computer. To prevent the problem from reoccurring, you may need to configure your Windows Firewall or other Security programs to allow updates to the CTI Navigator program. See configuration instructions for the appropriate program at CTI's Menu of Help and Tutorials.
